Duncan has been with Flagler men's lacrosse since 2016 as its club head coach.
Prior to Flagler
Duncan is deeply rooted in the First Coast having held various coaching positions since 2009. His first stop was as an assistant coach and defensive coordinator at Jacksonville University from 2009-11. He helped the Dolphins program from its inception. Jacksonville won 11 games in its first two years, which included wins over two NCAA Division I tournament teams in the inaugural season (2010). In JU's first year as members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, the Dolphins advanced to the conference tournament semifinal.
After Jacksonville, Duncan helped form the first professional team, the Jacksonville Bullies. He was the head coach of the team and was instrumental in an anti-bullying campaign called "Bullies against Bullying" in the fall of 2011.
He had a short stint (2013-14) at the Bolles School where he coached one All-American and 20 all-district players. He sent several players on to NCAA Division I institutions, including Cornell University. His teams improved from 8-11 in his first season to 10-5 in year two.
Duncan also served as an assistant coach/offensive coordinator at Florida Tech where the team was ranked No. 15 in the nation on offense (12.44 goals per game). Florida Tech was ranked as high as No. 12 in the USILA Coaches Poll and No. 10 in the Nike Poll with a 12-4 record. He helped seven players earn All-Sunshine State Conference honors and the 2015 team reached the conference championship game.
He was the offensive coordinator of the Florida Launch, a professional lacrosse team in Boca Raton that was a member of the Major Lacrosse League. The Launch made the final four in 2017.
Duncan started his coaching career at the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) at Essex. He coached the team to a national title in 2004 and was selected as the national coach of the year. He was a five-time Region XX Coach of the Year and won the regional title five times. Duncan was a four-time Maryland JUCO Athletic Conference Coach of the Year. He coached the Knights to five NJCAA final four appearances and three national championship games. He has coached three NJCAA National Players of the Year, 27 NJCAA first-team All-Americans, and 16 NJCAA second-team All-Americans.
Duncan graduated from the University of Maryland Baltimore County where he was a midfielder on the lacrosse team from 1989-92. He was voted captain of the team as a junior and senior. During his time there, the Retrievers knocked off No. 2 Maryland (1991) and were ranked as high as No. 13 (1992). He scored 36 goals and tallied 19 assists in his career. He won 211 faceoffs. Duncan led the team in ground balls (91) as a senior. He was drafted to play professional indoor lacrosse for Pittsburgh (1993) and Baltimore (1994). He was a part of six American Lacrosse League Championships, five Ocean City Master's Championships, and one Vail Supermaster's Championship.
